Grab a Buzzy Beetle shell and take it all the way back to the left. Wait for the Piranha Plants to retract, and fall down the left shaft to reach the first Star Coin.Īfter leaving that area, you can find the second Star Coin to the left. Once you hit the POW Block, you'll then be able to enter the lower pipe. If you miss, just head left a little and return and the Buzzy Beetle will reset. Jump on the Buzzy Beetle to get its shell, and climb on the bottom platform to throw it at the POW Block. Just afterwards you'll see two platforms that move up and down. This alternate route will unlock a warp pipe that takes Mario straight to the World 5-Castle.You won't find any Star Coins until you reach the checkpoint. You can wall jump to the top of the screen and, as Shell Mario, run left to break through bricks and complete the stage. Instead of jumping onto the flag, look for a vertical passage to the left. There's an alternate exit to the stage just past the third Star Coin. Chase after the shell and it'll wipe out all the koopas, giving you a 1-Up. Stomp on the first to get his shell, then kick the empty koopa shell to the right. Just under the second Star Coin is a row of red koopas. It's probably easiest to simply avoid the snail, though you can stomp on the snail to knock it off the cliff if you like. To grab it, follow the downward path to the left past the snail. You'll spot the third Star Coin underneath the main path near the end of the stage. Alternatively, you can use a koopa shell to destroy the bricks guarding the treasure. You can jump onto the icy platform and hit the P Switch to transform the bricks into coins, letting you pass through to collect the Star Coin. To get to this upper platform, continue right to a slope. This Star Coin is at the top of the screen, hidden behind two brick blocks. To reach it, drop to the right of the coin and carefully jump onto the platform directly under the treasure. Just before the halfway checkpoint is the first Star Coin.
